On Monday 7th November, the Travel and Tourism students from years 12 and 13, accompanied by their teacher, had the opportunity to take part in the Malaga airport’s “Skygate”, an educational visit programme.
Our students enjoyed a tour of the airport which was guided by a member of staff from AENA (“Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea”) Explanations in English were given throughout all the main areas that passengers usually cannot access.
During the visit, students were able to observe how the airport works “behind the scenes”. They were especially interested in the airports’ marketing and management strategies, including security measures.
This visit to the airport has been a wonderful opportunity for the Travel and Tourism students to enhance their knowledge about how that particular industry works. This will be extremely beneficial to help the students complete case studies regarding air transport and passengers.
