This year our annual “Book Door Cover Competition” to promote reading, which was launched for World Book Day, has produced some inspiring covers. Secondary students had to work together in their forms to produce a suitable book cover for their door display. Judging was a tough task for the Sixth Form students who had to score the door covers on creativity, team work, artistic skills and promotion of the story itself.
The winning door overall was 9G who resurrected Bram Stoker´s ´Dracula´ from the dead with a 3D coffin illuminated by red lights. Other classics were also celebrated as well as popular modern fiction. The winner from Key Stages 4 and 5 was George Orwell´s “Animal Farm”.
All the doors were absolutely amazing and we are looking forward to next year’s display.
