Following the girls’ tournament, The British College boys went to Sotogrande to compete in the International School Football Tournament last Wednesday 18th November.
Our girls set high standards with their performance and behaviour, but our boys also wanted to leave a mark and were congratulated by many coaches of the tournament.
The U13 team (Y7 and Y8) finished in a very well deserved second position. The youngest squad played 8 matches, winning six, drawing one and losing a final that went to penalties after 0-0. The team was composed of Manuel Barrios, Nicolás Cuevas, Héctor Sánchez, Telmo Barris, Román Gómez, Eduardo Gómez, Sergio Andrades, Ethan Comley, Daniel Casas, Alejandro Sánchez, Hao Zhou, Jaime Vidal, Alejandro Villamazar and Alejandro García. Special mention to Alejandro García (Y9), Most Valuable Player of his team throughout the tournament.
The U15 team (Y9 and Y10) was composed of CosmeBarris, SantiagoFernández, Marco Fernández, Jorge Andrades, Luis Frías, Daniel Cuevas, Luke Rickwood, Mounir Houliche, Oliver Watson, Emilio Torres, Daniel Sinervo and Joseph Costello. They played fantastic football throughout 6 matches, winning three, drawing two and losing one. Special mention to Oliver Watson, MVP for his team on the tournament.
Finally, the U19 team (Y11, 12 and 13) played again 6 well contested matches, winning four, drawing one and losing one. The players composing this team were Álvaro Valcarce, Daniel Castillo, Antonio Vidal, Jamie Strang, Iván Lopez, Mohamed Houliche, David Pino, Juan José González, Willem Bruins, Andrés Marmolejo, Santiago Gonzalo, John Wallace and Aitor Granero. Special mention to Aitor Granero, top scorer of the whole tournament and MVP for his team.
The coaches Mr Miranda, Mr Arcas and Mr Perry had a fantastic day and feel extremely proud of you!
