‘A triumph!’ ‘We were transported to the world of fairy tales, and didn’t want to go home.’ ‘A riot of colour and fun. Congratulations to the cast – they were phenomenal.’
These are just some of the comments after the school drama group staged ‘A Wife for Prince Charming’ on Tuesday and Wednesday , 29th and 30th October. Both performances were well attended by an appreciative audience of family, friends and staff.
For two hours they were treated to a proper love-story, which was a heady mix of sweet heroines, Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, Kings and Queens – very royal -well done, a handsome talking cat,, naughty princesses, singing and dancing Essex fairies, Seven (cute) dwarfs, a truly awe-inspiring wicked queen, a very sassy Mirror, a bad, bad tempered party-spoiling fairy, handsome Huntsman and Chamberlain, Ugly Sisters who terrified every man in the building, a Baron who did his best, and his money-grabbing Baroness, a Royal Nanny who flooded the hall with her tears, a special appearance by SuperPrince, a karate red-belt Red Riding Hood, the sweetest Wolf in the world, and of course, our Prince Charming, who with the help of his good friend Ambrose, finally finds that the girl of his dreams is his “bestest” friend – Lady Polly! Have we forgotten someone? Yes? Well she makes dreams come true -you can trust her – she is a Fairy Godmother!
