Our school has been collaborating with “Save the Children” for many years now. We think that conveying to our children and teenagers the right values is an essential part of their education. This is why making them understand how important it is to help other children, as unfortunately not every child lives in an environment that allows them to develop as a person but, well on the contrary, sometimes they are deprived of everything, is one of the most essential values that we as teachers must encourage.
This school year, after our usual race “Kilometres of Solidarity” in which all our pupils from Nursery up to year 13 took part, we had the honour of being appointed as an Ambassador Centre for “Save the Children”, in recognition of our collaboration with them throughout the years. Our children and teenagers should feel proud of the effort they made, of their commitment and their generosity. We raised 3,082 €.
It was really important for us that the Mayoress of Benalmádena, Ms. Paloma García Gálvez, together with two councillors, Ms. Yolanda Peña and Ms. Concha Cifrián, came to the ceremony that we held in the school in which Ms. Marisol Paniagua, a representative from “Save the Children”, gave us a plaque as an “Ambassador Centre”. Their visit helped our pupils to understand the importance of their participation in the race, as well as to be aware of the fact that if we all do our part , we will contribute towards making this world a little bit better every day.
