On Friday 14th February, the children from Year Two presented an amazing assembly for their parents. The assembly was a celebration of the children’s recent work in their history and music topics. The children were able to demonstrate their knowledge by recalling what they had learnt about “The Great Fire of London” in 1666 and about famous explorers of the modern age, such as the astronaut Neil Armstrong.
The children’s learning was enhanced by performing a variety of songs covering many different genres, including traditional “sea-shanties” and even a song which the children performed accompanied by official British sign language. They used fantastic concentration and listening skills to sing in a round.
The reciting of poems and the display of the children’s artwork further helped to show the children’s enthusiasm in their learning and pride in their work and achievements.
Both their teachers, and most importantly, their parents, were extremely proud – well done Year Two!
