International women’sday. Embrace equity.

On 8th March 2023, secondary school students took part in a range of activities that embraced the spirit of International Women´s Day, from PSHE lessons to subject based ones, where the topic encompassed the history and/or core values behind this day. Many of our staff sported the colour purple: a colour chosen by the original suffragettes. We also launched one of the many fund raising activities that we are organising in aid of the Syria/Turkey earthquake, selling purple bands, ribbons and broaches. 200 euros were raised for this worthy cause throughout the week. It was nice to see that most of the classrooms were decorated with posters about the campaign done during form time or PSHE lessons. This year’s theme was about embracing equity which is an equally worthy concept of the idea of equality.
