Parents attended a Year 6 G, R & Y Assembly

Today our Year 6 G, R & Y children welcomed their parents into school to witness one of their assemblies. These assemblies take place every fortnight. In this occasion, the motto of the assembly was “No to bullying”. The children presented and celebrated their learning during our “Anti bullying week” in PSHE.

We are fortunate that in our school our children do not face bullying, however the assembly highlighted the importance of eradicating bullying, wherever it may occur, including on-line, due to the negative effect it can have on the individuals involved. The children demonstrated how powerful words can be, the damaging effect they can have, and how it can only take a minute to cause harm which can sometimes take a lifetime to repair.

The children’s singing was outstanding and the messages in the songs were clear and also emotional, bringing a tear to many an eye. Every child participated enthusiastically showing a belief in the message they were sending.

Well done year 6, you were amazing and a credit to our school.
