Our first sporting event of the year took place on Wednesday 11th November. Thirty girls from The British College participated in the International Schools Football tournament held in Sotogrande.
Our girls thoroughly enjoyed the day and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and behaviour both on and off the pitch.
The U13 team (Y7 and Y8) played 6 matches, winning four, drawing one and losing one. The team was composed of Isabel Alberro, Sofía Pérez, Rania Zerrad, Pilar Parra, Manuela Domínguez, María Gómez, Paula Galán, Paloma Mata, Inés Díaz and Olivia Cara. Special mention to Paloma Mata (only Y6!), top scorer for her category with 5 goals, as well as Inés Díaz and Olivia Cara, both from Y6, who fantastically performed against opponents two years older than them.
The U15 team (Y9 and Y10) was composed of Marina Marmolejo, Gloria Granero, Noa Urdiales, Andrea Arroyo, Aurora Barrionuevo, Candela Arroyo, Jimena García, Paloma de Lorenzo, Elena López, Carla Barris and Kimberly Boberg. They played 6 matches, winning two, drawing two and losing two. Special mention to Elena López, MVP (most valuable player) for her team on the tournament.
Finally, the U19 team (Y11, 12 and 13) played 5 matches, winning three, drawing one and losing two. The players in this team were María Vázquez, Janice Bax, Lidia Hijano, Cecilia Bosman, Mar Bajos, Mark Barrios, Reyes Mata, Carla Barris and Kimberly Boberg. Special mention to Cecilia Bosman, MVP for her team in the tournament, as well as Carla Barris, Kimberly Boberg and María Vázquez, Y10 girls who played extremely well in a category above their age range.
The coaches Mr. Miranda, Mr. Arcas and Mr. Perry on behalf of The British College feel extremely proud of you!
Congratulations to all the players who took part!
